Child Support

Georgia requires both parents to provide for a child’s needs and maintenance by way of child support. Before 2007, child support was calculated based on a percentage of the paying parent’s income; now, Georgia uses an “income share model” which takes into consideration both parents’ incomes and certain expenses related to the minor child. A Child Support Worksheet must be filed in every case involving minor children to help determine these considerations. Making sure your child is taken care of after divorce is of upmost importance to any parent. Call our office today to go over your rights, the legal process, and get any questions you might have.
